Firefighter Josh Corson and Captain Steve Ireland are currently going through Basic Fire School. This brand new 5-weekend course is being offered by Maine Bureau of Labor Standards (BLS). Locations for classes are set up all over Somerset County with Maine Fire Training & Education Instructors teaching the course. There are currently 31 Firefighters coming from Jackman to Hartland taking this class! If anyone is intersted in becoming a Firefighter, please contact Captain Steve Ireland at nfd207@roadrunner.com. We are always looking for some dedicated civilians that want to join our team. Firefighter Matt Everett is continuing his education through the allready established MFT&E course at Oakland Fire Station. By June we'll have 2 more structural certified Firefighters!

Firefighter Ryan Jones, Lieutenant Dennis Obert, and Captain Steve Ireland are currently enrolled in Pumps 1 training at Skowhegan Fire. This again is sponsored by Maine Fire Training & Education and taught by certified instructors. Captain Shawn Howard of Skowhegan Fire is coordinating this course. This will finish up at the end of March. Skowhegan, Cornville, Canaan, and Norridgewock Fire Departments have sent personnel to this class.
